I'm presently in my 4th university chasing my pharmacy degree. Whew! It's been a journey! I know you must be wondering how possible that is.
Deep sigh
Let's dive in!
Dear Worldchanger,
It has been a journey of faith chasing this degree. At some point, I thought of dropping school even if I didn't know what I would have done if I dropped out of school. I know some of you are surprised that I even had the thought of dropping out but I thank God for strength.
I started my journey in the University of Lagos in 2018. I was offered Chemistry instead of Pharmacy. My parents encouraged me to go for it while I prepare to write another JAMB(this is a qualification exam to be passed before you can enter any university in Nigeria). I started the Chemistry program and re-wrote JAMB. I had over 250 in Jamb and had a 4.2 CGPA in my 1st semester in the Chemistry program. My sister was in Ukraine during this period so I decided to also apply to Ukraine for Pharmacy and I gained admission.
I withdrew from my Chemistry program in the University of Lagos and travelled to Ukraine. My journey in Ukraine was beautiful! I met my bestfriends in Ukraine and the community there was solid. I was trained spiritually and a number of my achievements can be traced to my time there. I thank God for taking me there! It was a training ground. I was in my 4th year 2nd semester when the war happened. We all had to leave Ukraine.
I went back to Nigeria. I remember my family asking if I wanted to finish online like my sister did since I had just 2 semesters left. Logically speaking, finishing online wasn't bad. I had just 2 semesters to finish but I was not being led in that direction(that sounds crazy right?) . I told them I wanted to continue school physically and I needed to go back to Europe( I had a prompting in my spirit that I wasn't done in Europe). I applied to Hungary for a scholarship but it didn't work out. At this point, I was getting tired and impatient.
An opportunity opened up to transfer to Poland and I decided to go for it. To be honest, I was impatient and tired of staying at home. I just wanted to go to school so I didn't wait it out with God. I thought this was the opportunity I was waiting for and it's looked good.
Not every good opportunity is God's and not every open door is from God.
I transferred to Poland ending of last year. It was going okay until this year when I found out the university deceived us and they weren't legalised in Poland. Students were getting arrested due to legalisation and all. My God! It was a crazy period. I was in shock and wept almost everyday in March. The year already started rough for me(gist for another day) coupled with this, I was almost losing it. I just want to thank God for my supportive parents, sister, Pastors, mentors and friends. They all held me up in prayers and checked up constantly.
I had to go back to Nigeria in April. I felt so down because it felt like I was back to the beginning. My parents encouraged me to go again and apply to another university. I decided to take my time and wait it out with God. I was ready not to rush into anything without allowing God lead me. Interestingly, I got a word from God for my birthday which was in May, this scripture had the name of where I'm at presently and I remember laughing when I read it.
I already applied to various universities in Hungary and North Cyprus before I went back to Nigeria. I started receiving responses and the ones from Hungary weren't positive. Two from North Cyprus were positive but there was an issue. My Nigerian passport was to expire June 2023. I renewed my passport in Poland February 2023. The whole school saga happened in March and I needed to leave Poland. I waited until April and my new passport wasn't delivered. I reached out to them a number of times but no positive response. I travelled with my Old passport and we kept waiting for the new passport cause I needed it to continue my admission process.
To cut the long story short, after waiting for 6months, I finally got my passport. God connected me to the right person and everything was set in place. I was finally able to finish up my admission process and transfer to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. I am presently in TRNC and I can tell you that God is extremely faithful! It has been a journey and I can't wait to share with you all when I graduate from pharmacy school. I have about a year to be done and I pray that I finish well. Please say a word of prayer for me whenever you read this.
To whoever needed to hear this story to be encouraged, I hope it blessed you! Don't give up and keep pushing! Until your job is done and victory is won. He is the God of your journey and do not try to compare your journey with another person.
PS: If you know anyone from Ukraine or anyone at all who wants to attend Kyiv medical University in Poland, please beg them not to go. That University is a SCAM!
Song for the week: You hold it all together by Maverick city
